Colubris
AI-assisted whole-slide image acquisition and analysis with real-time data mining and collaborative review.
Overview
Colubris is an all-in-one acquisition and analysis platform developed by TissueGnostics, designed for whole-slide imaging and image analysis in biological and clinical research. It combines brightfield and fluorescence slide scanning with integrated AI-assisted image analysis, targeting researchers who work with complex tissue samples and large volumes of imaging data.
The platform runs on the exScan software and is delivered as a boxed system paired with an HP Z6 workstation and two 4K 27-inch monitors as standard. It supports on-the-fly analysis and data mining during active sample scanning, and allows collaborative review and remote control of acquisition and analysis processes over the internet.
Hardware Configuration
- High precision, high accuracy linear stage
- Up to 6 Zeiss objectives; standard configuration includes 10x, 20x, and 40x
- 8-position slide holder supporting standard and double-size slides
Brightfield Image Acquisition
- High-resolution 16 MP preview camera
- CMOS acquisition camera (8-bit, 4.2 MP, color)
- 6-position condenser wheel, including a fully-blocked position for fluorescence imaging
- White light LED with a lifetime exceeding 40,000 hours
Fluorescence Image Acquisition
- High-resolution 16 MP preview camera with DAPI filter
- sCMOS acquisition camera (16-bit, 4.1 MP, monochrome)
- Two quad-band filter cubes for use with a multi-LED light engine (89402, 89403)
- Multispectral light source with 8 colors
Software Capabilities
- AI-assisted image analysis performed on-the-fly during sample scanning
- Flexible, composable user interface built from selectable tiles, including cell segmentation, histogram plots, and statistical analysis modules
- Tiles communicate with each other within the dashboard environment
- Tools for exploring, structuring, and interpreting large quantities of imaging data and analysis results
- Collaborative workflow support with interactive data sharing over the internet
- Remote control of acquisition processes and remote launch of analyses
Platform Scope
- Covers acquisition, management, visualisation, and analysis of imaging data within a single platform
- Supports workflows in tissue analysis, cellular interaction studies, and spatial cell landscape research
Colubris is produced by TissueGnostics GmbH, based in Vienna, Austria. The platform is listed as launching soon, and is positioned within TissueGnostics' broader portfolio of microscope automation, image analysis, and digital cell morphology solutions.
