Overview

Service Insight is an all-in-one lab operations (LabOps) platform designed to help laboratories manage, maintain, and monitor every asset with real-time insights and automated workflows — at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions. The platform serves a wide range of labs, from small startup environments to large-scale global research operations, providing a centralized system that keeps teams aligned, equipment running smoothly, and operations compliant.

Service Insight was founded by Anthony Uzzo and James Gregory, both of whom began their careers working in labs and previously co-founded Core Informatics, a LIMS and ELN software company serving biotech through global pharmaceutical companies, which was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2017. Drawing on that experience, they built Service Insight to address the full spectrum of lab operations challenges with a more powerful and comprehensive approach.

Core Platform Modules

  • Manage: Provides a centralized system to take control of lab operations, streamline workflows, and keep teams aligned. Includes an Asset Registry and Tagging module for creating a single source of truth with searchable records, custom tags, and easy updates; Asset Scheduling for simplified booking and usage tracking via a shared calendar view; and Asset Ticketing for logging issues, assigning tasks, and tracking resolution through a built-in ticketing system tailored for lab workflows.
  • Maintain: Simplifies preventive maintenance and corrective actions with tools designed to keep labs running smoothly and compliantly. Features include Visual Kanban Boards for tracking maintenance tasks from creation to completion with a drag-and-drop interface; an AI-Powered Task Editor for generating, editing, and assigning maintenance tasks faster with smart suggestions and context-aware fields; and Asset Task History providing a complete log of maintenance events per asset, ideal for audits, reporting, and performance reviews.
  • Monitor: Delivers complete visibility into the lab environment through real-time monitoring and smart alerts. Capabilities include CO₂ and Cold Storage Monitoring to track temperature, CO₂, and humidity for protecting sensitive cell cultures; Ambient Environment Monitoring for tracking lab conditions such as humidity, temperature, and pressure; Asset Utilization Monitoring to understand equipment usage and optimize spend; and a Real-Time Dashboard for viewing live equipment status, alerts, and trends in a centralized interface.

Technology and Infrastructure

  • Uses an open and LoRaWAN-based connectivity approach, providing unmatched flexibility, extended wireless range, and scalability for connecting laboratory equipment.
  • Built on modern cloud infrastructure designed to meet the expectations of LabOps managers, with a powerful, future-ready SaaS foundation.
  • Offers hardware and software capabilities described as three times greater than competitors, wireless range and battery life ten times that of competing solutions, and pricing at approximately 50% of competitor costs.

Company Values

  • Continuous Innovation: Regularly delivering new tools to keep pace with the dynamic nature of labs and evolving technology.
  • Peace of Mind: Enabling labs to operate with greater reliability, predictability, and efficiency.
  • Customer Empowerment: Listening to customers, adapting quickly to their evolving needs, and providing direct guidance and teaching rather than generic self-help resources.
  • Action-Oriented: Helping labs achieve more through actionable insights, efficient resource orchestration, and resilient systems.

Customer Validation
