Overview

Odin Software is designed to facilitate the configuration, execution, and analysis of microbial identification and phenotyping experiments. It offers a user-friendly interface that simplifies the setup, analysis, and export of experimental data.

Intuitive Experimental Set-Up

Odin allows users to configure experiments for identifying unknown microbes or characterizing cells to obtain detailed phenotypic profiles. The software supports multiple users setting up and running plates simultaneously, organizing data into projects and batches. Users can configure up to 10 fields to store sample metadata, and the interface guides users through workflows to save, load plates, and initiate runs.

Data Acquisition Visualized

Once a batch is loaded, Odin automatically incubates and reads plates at selected intervals. Users can view live data collection, ensuring sample tracking, and observe live kinetic curves for each well in two colors, representing different wavelengths.

Streamlined Identification

For phenotypic identification, Odin compares the metabolic fingerprint of organisms against a database of over 2,900 species, including bacteria, anaerobes, yeast, and fungi. The software halts experiments upon finding a match and generates a clear, exportable report.

Phenotypic Characterization

Odin measures growth and metabolism under various conditions to characterize cell phenotypes. It seamlessly analyzes data, compares samples, and calculates kinetic parameters. Users can explore compounds or drugs in each well with live KEGG links, and the curation screen aids in deciding on replicate inclusion or outlier exclusion. Reports aggregate replicate samples and highlight compounds with significant parameter differences.

Community Analysis

Odin supports community-level analysis, useful for understanding microbial communities and their roles in ecosystems. It aggregates replicate wells, analyzes single samples or pairwise comparisons, and uses kinetic data to assess parameter changes over time. The software standardizes data to estimate microbial community functional diversity and changes, measuring metrics like Average Well Color Development, Shannon’s Diversity Index, and Shannon’s Evenness Index.

Single-Click Data Export

Odin facilitates easy data export, allowing users to export raw reads, graphs, comparisons, calculated parameters, and reports in their preferred format with a single click.

Regulatory Compliance

Odin includes features for user access control and data protection, aiding regulatory compliance. An optional 21 CFR Part 11 package offers additional features like Audit Trail generation and electronic report signatures.
