LabArchives
A digital platform for recording, organizing, and managing scientific notes and experimental data with customizable layouts, widgets, and integrations.
Overview
LabArchives is a comprehensive digital platform designed to enhance the note-taking and data management experience for scientists. It allows users to easily document research with an intuitive interface, offering a variety of entry types, widgets, and integrations.
Users can customize page layouts by formatting notebooks with headings, text, tables, and links, ensuring consistency across teams by setting default formats. Files can be imported via drag-and-drop, with previews available for multi-page PDFs and slide decks.
The platform includes a Chemical Sketcher widget for drawing chemical structures and reactions, and supports embedding images and videos directly into notes. Images can be annotated, and diagrams can be drawn using freehand sketching and shapes. Math equations can be added using the Insert Math tool.
LabArchives facilitates data tracking and retrieval through features like linking notebook entries, tagging for improved search results, and searching across multiple notebooks. Comments and mentions alert users via email and notifications, while auto-save and timestamps ensure data integrity.
The platform supports a robust revision history, storing every edit with details like timestamps and user information, allowing users to revert to previous versions if needed.
Built-in widgets enhance functionality, offering calculators for stoichiometry, molarity, and yield, as well as customizable forms for standardized data capture. Users can integrate external applications, such as Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, SnapGene, and REDcap, to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
LabArchives also supports the storage of PubMed references and the integration of Jupyter Notebook files, providing a comprehensive solution for managing research data and documentation.
