Overview

TissueFAXS Viewer is a free, standalone desktop application developed by TissueGnostics for viewing high-resolution virtual slides produced by TissueFAXS imaging systems. It is intended for researchers and collaborators who need to review scan data without access to the full imaging setup, supporting brightfield, fluorescence, and multispectral scans.

The viewer allows users to navigate scans, view annotations, annotate regions of interest, and assess results, making it suitable for sharing and reviewing data across teams.

Key Capabilities

  • Navigation of high-resolution virtual slides generated by TissueFAXS systems
  • Support for brightfield, fluorescence, and multispectral scan types
  • Viewing and creation of annotations on regions of interest
  • Review of imaging results without requiring the full TissueFAXS imaging system

Available Versions

  • Separate builds are available for systems without a slideloader and systems with a slideloader
  • Versions without slideloader: TissueFAXS 6.0 Viewer (6.0.6245.146), 7.0 Viewer (7.0.6245.141), 7.1 Viewer (7.1.7.146), and 8.0 Viewer (8.0.0.174), all 64-bit
  • Versions with slideloader: TissueFAXS SL 6.0 Viewer, SL 7.0 Viewer (7.0.6245.135), SL 7.1 Viewer (7.1.7.137), and 8.0 Viewer (8.0.0.174), all 64-bit
  • Older versions are available by contacting the TissueGnostics support team

Version Compatibility and File Handling

  • The viewer version must match the TissueFAXS scanning software version on the corresponding imaging system
  • A viewer can open projects from its corresponding version or older versions
  • If a newer viewer version is used to open a project, it will upgrade the .aqproj file to its own format; once upgraded, the file cannot be reopened in older TissueFAXS software or the corresponding analysis software
  • When a version mismatch is detected, the viewer warns the user and offers the option to open the file as Read Only (preserving the original format) or to upgrade it to enable annotation
  • TissueGnostics advises backing up the .aqproj file before opening a project in the viewer if there is any uncertainty about version compatibility
