Sharing & Collaboration Tools
Real-time genomic data sharing and collaborative analysis for distributed research teams worldwide.
Overview
ROSALIND's Sharing & Collaboration tools, offered by OnRamp Bio, are a cloud-based suite of features designed to connect scientists, bioinformaticians, and research collaborators anywhere in the world around shared genomic datasets. By providing virtual meeting rooms called Spaces, the platform enables real-time cooperative analysis and interpretation of experiment results without the need to email screen captures, ship hard drives, or re-process raw data from scratch.
The platform is built for pharma, biotech, and academic researchers who need to accelerate discoveries through consistent, secure, and interactive teamwork. ROSALIND is intentionally designed for scientists rather than bioinformaticians, allowing users to focus on biology and science without requiring programming, biostatistics, or months of onboarding.
Core Collaboration Features
- Cloud-based real-time collaboration accessible securely from anywhere at any time
- Spaces — virtual meeting rooms where scientists share experiments and meta-analyses for joint exploration and interpretation
- Each Space includes a title, description, and a listing of total experiments and participants
- Experiment type and species identification via icons within each Space
- Hyper Summaries to quickly view all samples, comparisons, meta-analyses, and Spaces connected to an experiment
- Activity feed that serves as a full audit trail, reporting all participant actions in real time
- Role-based access controls, including view-only permissions
- Invite participants by email or SMS
- Customizable access policies for IT departments to enforce corporate security requirements
- End-to-end encryption for all data transmissions and storage
- API integration enabling production informatics teams to centrally process and distribute results into Spaces, with Single Sign-On (SSO) support
Three-Step Workflow for Sharing & Collaboration
- Getting Started: Create a Space by selecting available experiments and meta-analyses, then invite participants to join via text or email. The Space acts as an online collaborative area where scientists from anywhere in the world can come together around a shared research objective.
- Collaborative Discovery: Every participant can explore shared experiments and meta-analyses as if they were their own, including pathway interpretation, comparisons, and filter adjustments. Depending on access level and Space permissions, participants may contribute their own analyses, create meta-analyses across shared and private datasets, and enhance shared experiments. All updates are instantly visible to every participant worldwide.
- Security and Enterprise Restrictions: All data transmissions and storage are encrypted. Access is granted only to authenticated users with appropriate permissions. Space owners and Enterprise Administrators can delete Spaces, remove experiments, meta-analyses, or participants at any time. Individual participants may remove their own contributions or leave a Space at any time. IT departments can define detailed policies to restrict sharing without compromising corporate security.
Platform Capabilities & Highlights
- Designed for Scientists: Intuitive interface that allows researchers to ramp up quickly with minimal training, focusing on discovery rather than bioinformatics tooling
- Powerful Analysis: Supports advanced analyses including contamination detection, covariate correction, batch correction, and multi-omic analyses
- Rich Data Visualization: High-quality, publication-ready, interactive diagrams and plots for exploring experiment results
- Pathway Interpretation: Gene enrichment analysis across more than 20 leading knowledge bases to discover significant pathways, biological functions, and processes
- Flexible Data Import: Start new experiments from FASTQ files or from raw or normalized counts
- Trusted Built-in Pipelines: Industry-standard, widely published bioinformatics tools tuned into built-in pipelines
- Data Consistency: Ensures consistent data analysis and interpretation across all collaborative teamwork
ROSALIND supports enterprise, professional, and academic subscription tiers, as well as licenses for service providers, contract research organizations (CROs), and academic core labs. API integration with SSO support makes it suitable for large pharma R&D teams managing multiple program or project groups. A free ROSALIND account is required to join a Space, though a paid subscription is not necessary to accept an invitation and participate in collaborative research.
