Orchestrate Terminology API

The Orchestrate Terminology API, developed by CareEvolution, standardizes and classifies healthcare codes and concepts to improve clinical data quality. It is designed for organizations working with healthcare data files — particularly C-CDAs, which frequently contain uncoded or poorly coded data — and supports better data analysis, visualization, and aggregation across a range of applications.

The API has been developed and refined by CareEvolution over more than 15 years and is built on a cloud-native architecture. Reported outcomes include correction of 95% of processed files and a 40%+ increase in correctly coded data.

Core Capabilities

• Standardize: Accepts an input code and/or free text and finds matching codings from reference code systems. The reference systems used depend on the clinical domain — for example, medication codes may be mapped to RxNorm and NDC, while report types may use LOINC and SNOMED.
• Classify: From an input coding, returns a set of classifications based on the domain. For example, a medication code may be classified by ingredient and strength, and a condition may be classified by clinical category and whether it is acute or chronic.
