Novasign Studio
Cloud-based collaborative environment for bioprocess modeling, simulation, and optimization with no-code and code-friendly workflows.
Overview
Novasign Studio is a cloud-based (or fully on-premise) collaborative environment designed for bioprocess development teams. Built by Novasign, it serves as a unified workspace for data management, hybrid modeling, simulation, and experiment design — combining a no-code interface with code-friendly extensibility so that every member of a team, regardless of technical background, can contribute effectively.
Novasign Studio evolves from Novasign's established desktop tools — the Hybrid Model Toolbox and the Digital Twin — bringing their core capabilities into a modern, transparent, and scalable platform. Currently orchestrating around 50 microservices and growing, the platform manages everything from user permissions to distributed computation, eliminating black-box workflows and replacing them with fully documented, versioned, and accessible processes.
Core Platform Capabilities
- Cloud-based or fully on-premise deployment, giving organizations complete control over their infrastructure and data security.
- No-code drag-and-drop workflow nodes for building and sharing data pipelines and unit operation models without writing code.
- Code-friendly extensibility, allowing users to insert custom code (e.g., Python nodes) directly into workflows for advanced or bespoke requirements.
- A single, transparent workspace consolidating data, models, and experiments under one roof.
- Full workflow versioning and documentation, ensuring every step is traceable and auditable.
Data Integration and Preprocessing
- Accepts data in multiple formats including Excel, CSV, and Parquet.
- Supports specialized data sources such as Qubicon®, enabling users to select processes and sensors and stream data directly into modeling and simulation workflows.
- Centralizes data ingestion, preprocessing, and refinement so that raw data can be transformed into actionable insights without leaving the platform.
Hybrid Modeling and Digital Twin Functionality
- Builds on the Novasign Hybrid Model Toolbox for process characterization, understanding, optimization, and advanced process control including soft sensors and model predictive control (MPC).
- Incorporates Digital Twin capabilities for in-silico simulations and optimizations, enabling teams to refine and streamline process development before physical experimentation.
Flexible Experiment Design
- Supports classical Design of Experiments (DoE), model-based DoE (mDoE), and intensified DoE (iDoE) within the same intuitive interface.
- Allows multi-dimensional visualization of experiments with interactive filtering and on-the-fly parameter adjustment.
- Enables transformation of traditional experimental designs into intensified designs, reducing experimental effort without sacrificing scientific insight.
AI Copilot Assistance
- Optional AI copilots are available to guide users through complex tasks such as suggesting optimization strategies, assisting with experiment design, and helping configure new scenarios.
- AI copilots can be deployed fully on-premise for organizations with strict data security requirements, ensuring absolute control over sensitive information.
- Designed to accelerate learning and decision-making while keeping the user in full control of outcomes.
Open Integration and Interoperability
- Seamlessly integrates with third-party data platforms such as Qubicon® and SCADA systems for real-time process oversight and control.
- Supports model export and connectivity with solutions from other vendors, reflecting Novasign's commitment to openness and avoiding vendor lock-in.
- Designed to collaborate with external partners and even competitors, provided they maintain equivalent standards of openness and transparency.
Novasign Studio is continuously expanding to cover all bioprocess unit operations within a comprehensive end-to-end optimization framework. The platform is shaped by ongoing client feedback, ensuring that features, integrations, and capabilities evolve to meet the real-world needs of bioprocess development teams. Organizations interested in exploring the platform can book a meeting or contact the Novasign team directly.
