Overview

iLIMS, developed by INTEGRIS LIMS, is a modular laboratory information and management system (LIMS) designed for modern operational, research, and contract laboratories. Built for flexibility and full data sovereignty, iLIMS enables laboratory teams to digitize and streamline all core processes — from sample intake and measurement management through to invoicing and compliance reporting — without being locked into a cloud-only model.

The platform is suitable for a wide range of laboratory types, including food and beverage, water and environmental, wine analytics, materials testing, and pharmaceutical and medical laboratories. Its modular architecture means each laboratory can select and configure only the components it needs, while remaining free to expand the system as requirements evolve.

Core Platform Capabilities

  • Sample Management: Full lifecycle tracking of every sample from receipt to final report, ensuring complete transparency and traceability.
  • Workflow Engine: Automates laboratory processes through standardized, configurable workflows that reduce manual errors and accelerate analyses.
  • Device Management: Direct instrument connectivity enabling automatic data collection, minimizing manual entry, and ensuring all devices remain maintained and calibrated.
  • CRM and Invoicing: Integrated customer relationship management, quoting, and invoicing tools that reduce administrative overhead within the same system.
  • Chemical Management: Inventory, storage, and usage tracking for chemicals, supporting regulatory compliance and optimizing stock levels.
  • Calibration of Testing Equipment: Planning and documentation of all calibrations and maintenance activities to ensure reliable measurement results.
  • Dashboard and Reporting: Customizable real-time dashboards and powerful reporting features providing clear visibility into laboratory performance, trends, and bottlenecks.
  • Modular Expandability: The system grows with the laboratory, allowing additional modules to be added as needs change.

Industry-Specific Solutions

  • Food: Supports contract laboratories with compliant data transmission, individual test reports, and accurate terminology from order receipt to final report.
  • Water and Environment: Helps laboratory managers meet quality requirements and coordinate processes from sampling through to reporting, supporting successful accreditation.
  • Wine and Beverages: Developed in partnership with Göttert Software since 2015, combining deep wine analytics expertise with flexible, configurable technology.
  • Material and Material Testing: Accompanies the full process from material receipt to automatic report generation, ensuring transparent and efficient quality control.
  • Medicine and Pharma: Meets strict regulatory requirements and integrates CRM, sales, project management, and accounting modules for maximum transparency and efficiency.

Implementation Methodology

  1. Project Start and Analysis: A kick-off at the customer's location captures current processes, devices, data flows, and interfaces, and defines goals, project scope, device connectivity, and milestones.
  2. Concept and Planning: Development of a concept covering target processes, system architecture, interfaces, and data migration, alongside a transparent timeline, resource plan, and risk analysis.
  3. Implementation: Setup of software and hardware (including printers), configuration in the laboratory environment, interface integration, data migration, and structured testing.
  4. Test Phase: Structured testing of functionality, performance, interfaces, and data quality, with preparation for acceptance by laboratory management and quality assurance.
  5. Training and Go-Live: Targeted employee training, support readiness, and monitoring to ensure a smooth transition to productive operation.
  6. Support and Optimization: Ongoing post-go-live partnership including process fine-tuning, upgrade planning, and support contracts.

The implementation process follows Scrum methodology with weekly or bi-weekly project consultations and sprint-based task management, supported by access to the online ticket system Redmine. INTEGRIS LIMS is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO/IEC 27001 for information security, and the platform functionally supports laboratory compliance standards such as ISO 17025, DAkkS accreditation, and GxP requirements, including audit trail and QM module capabilities. iLIMS can be deployed on the customer's own IT infrastructure or in the cloud, with the customer retaining full control over their sensitive laboratory data at all times.
