INTEGRIS LIMS GmbH
Modular laboratory information and management system for operational, research, and contract laboratories with full data sovereignty.
Overview
iLIMS, developed by INTEGRIS LIMS GmbH (formerly CSS LIMS GmbH), is a modular laboratory information and management system (LIMS) designed for modern operational, research, and contract laboratories. Founded in Dresden in 2003 and owner-managed ever since, the company has grown to a team of 30 dedicated employees and a strong network of partner companies. iLIMS serves laboratories of all sizes — from small specialized labs to large institutes — with a primary focus on the German market, delivering practical, flexible software that keeps laboratories in full control of their data at all times.
At its core, iLIMS is built around maximum flexibility and data sovereignty. Laboratories are not obligated to use cloud infrastructure; they can choose to deploy on their own IT environment or in the cloud, ensuring sensitive laboratory data remains under their control. The platform operates as modern, platform-independent client-server software with an intuitive interface, customizable dashboards, forms, and workflows, and step-by-step process guidance. INTEGRIS LIMS GmbH operates under ISO 9001 quality requirements and achieved ISO 27001 certification in 2025.

Implementation Methodology
- Project Start and Analysis: Kick-off at the customer's location to capture current processes, devices, data flows, and interfaces, and to define goals, project scope, device connectivity, and milestones.
- Concept and Planning: Development of a concept covering target processes, system architecture, interfaces, and data migration, followed by a transparent timeline, resource plan, and risk analysis.
- Implementation: Setup of software and device hardware (including printers), configuration in the laboratory environment, interface integration, data migration, and structured testing.
- Test Phase: Structured testing of functionality, performance, interfaces, and data quality, with preparation for acceptance by laboratory management and quality assurance.
- Training and Go-Live: Targeted employee training, support readiness, and monitoring to ensure a smooth transition to productive operation.
- Post-Go-Live Support and Optimization: Ongoing support contracts, process fine-tuning, goal achievement evaluation, and upgrade planning as a long-term partner.
The implementation process follows Scrum methodology, with weekly or bi-weekly project consultations between customer and iLIMS project teams, sprint-based task management, and access to the online ticket system Redmine for effective project tracking. Notable partnerships include a collaboration with Göttert Software for wine laboratory solutions (since 2015), a strategic partnership with Codemers GmbH (2023), a cooperation with TU Dresden's SmartLab Systems research group (2020), and participation in the EdgeVision project supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (2024). iLIMS received the Saxon Innovation Award in 2015.
