Overview

Entrolytics is a cloud-based medical imaging platform built specifically for gastrointestinal data. Developed by Motilent, it supports the full imaging workflow — ingest, store, view, quantify, and communicate — within a single browser-based environment. The platform is designed for radiologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons, clinical trial teams, researchers, and educators who work with multi-modality GI datasets including MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy video, and histology slides.

Conventional PACS and file transfer systems were not designed for the complexity of multi-modality GI imaging. Entrolytics addresses this by providing a purpose-built environment that handles large, heterogeneous datasets securely, supports de-identification, and enables collaboration across clinical teams, research sites, and trial networks.

Core Capabilities

  • Purpose-built for gastrointestinal imaging and multi-modality datasets including MRI DICOM, ultrasound cine loops, endoscopy video, and histology slides
  • Browser-based viewer accessible on standard laptops or desktops without specialist hardware or local installation
  • Supports the full pipeline: ingest, store, view, annotate, quantify, and communicate
  • Includes Motilent's quantitative tools: GIQuant, GISeg, STMM, and quantitative ultrasound
  • Hosts the vEUA (virtual Examination Under Anaesthesia) tool for MRI-based visualisation of extramural perianal Crohn's disease
  • Designed to integrate with proprietary and third-party AI image analysis tools for automated measurements and decision support
  • Collaboration-ready, with structured data sharing across clinical teams, research sites, and trial networks
  • Built on ISO-27001 certified AWS infrastructure with HIPAA and GDPR compliance, including de-identification and "right to be forgotten" support

Ingest

  • Supports manual upload, automatic push from PACS, or direct connection to clinical systems
  • Accepts multiple data types: MRI DICOM, ultrasound cine loops, endoscopy video, and histology slides
  • Flexible tools for renaming studies, anonymising or de-identifying data, or retaining identifiers for clinical use

Store

  • Hosted on ISO-27001 certified AWS infrastructure with options to select data residency geography
  • Fully HIPAA and GDPR compliant, supporting anonymised, de-identified, or identifiable datasets depending on project requirements
  • Configurable data retention and deletion policies, including patient-driven "right to be forgotten"
  • Redundancy and disaster recovery features to maintain data availability in the event of system failure
  • Two-factor authentication, role-based permissions, and audit trails to control data access
  • Export of images and annotations in standardised formats such as DICOM and JSON for interoperability with external systems

View

  • Multi-modality viewer supporting MRI cine loops, ultrasound, endoscopy, and video side by side
  • Familiar PACS-like tools including zoom, pan, scroll, window/level adjustment, and linked axes
  • Dynamic loading for smooth navigation of large cine loops and datasets
  • Multiple viewports for simultaneous comparison of studies or modalities
  • Accessible remotely from hospital, home, or trial sites without installation

Quantify — Integrated Analysis Tools

  • GIQuant: Assesses small bowel motility and produces an objective score to support Crohn's disease activity monitoring
  • GISeg: Performs segmentation and volumetric analysis of the gut from MRI data
  • Quantitative ultrasound: Extracts quantitative measures from intestinal ultrasound data
  • STMM: Provides structured reporting and motility measurement for gastric physiology

Communicate

  • Generate structured reports combining images, annotations, and quantitative metrics
  • Design and deliver custom reports tailored to research groups, clinical trials, or hospital teams
  • Share data securely using role-based access controls and audit trails
  • Supports multi-site collaboration, enabling hospitals, CROs, and research teams to work from shared datasets
  • Export data in standard formats for trial submissions, publications, or presentations
  • vEUA tool provides MRI-based visualisation of perianal Crohn's anatomy to support communication between surgeons, radiologists, gastroenterologists, and patients

Use Cases

  • Multi-centre clinical trials: Supports GCP audit-compliant ingestion, quality control, central reading, eCRF, and data reporting across sites, CROs, and sponsors
  • Hospital practice: Enables clinicians to review multi-modality data and share results across multidisciplinary teams
  • Academic research: Provides structured datasets for quantitative analysis, publication, and training

Regulatory and Compliance Standards

  • ISO 13485:2016 certified quality management system for medical devices
  • IEC 62304:2006 compliant for medical device software
  • HIPAA and GDPR compliant, supporting anonymised, de-identified, or identifiable data
  • Hosted on ISO-27001 certified AWS infrastructure with regional data residency options
  • Data access and use governed by Motilent's End User Licence Agreement (EULA)

Entrolytics integrates with existing PACS systems and clinical workflows, and supports export in standard formats such as DICOM and JSON for regulatory submissions and external analysis. Motilent's quantitative tools within the platform are supported by peer-reviewed publications and collaborations with research institutions.
