CoverScan
Multi-organ tissue quantification from a single non-contrast MRI scan, generating 49 metrics to support clinical decision-making.
Overview
CoverScan, developed by Perspectum, is the world's first quantitative imaging solution capable of assessing multiple organs through a single, non-contrast MRI scan. Designed to support clinical decision-making, it enables clinicians to visualize and evaluate multi-organ health in a non-invasive manner, making it a powerful tool for physicians managing patients with complex, multi-systemic conditions.
CoverScan quantifies the tissue characteristics of six different organs simultaneously, delivering a comprehensive report of 49 metrics derived from multiparametric MR data. These metrics are presented relative to established reference ranges, allowing referring clinicians to efficiently assess multi-organ function. Used alongside other clinical tests and patient evaluations, CoverScan can form part of a broader clinical decision-making pathway. Repeated analyses also support ongoing patient monitoring and the personalization of treatment strategies.
Key Capabilities
- Quantification of tissue characteristics across six organs from a single non-contrast MRI scan
- Generation of 49 multiparametric MR metrics per scan for comprehensive multi-organ assessment
- Metrics presented relative to reference ranges for straightforward clinical interpretation
- Supports monitoring of disease progression and personalization of patient treatments over time
- Compatible with existing clinical MR infrastructure, requiring no additional hardware investment
Clinical Applications
- Assessment of patients with multi-systemic diseases, including long COVID and insulin resistance conditions such as metabolic syndrome and diabetes mellitus
- Aids diagnosis and monitoring in complex cases where multiple organ systems may be affected
- Provides clinicians with actionable quantitative data to support more informed clinical decisions
Regulatory Clearances
- Available within the UK's NHS since January 2021 under MHRA temporary authorization in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
- CoverScan 1.0 (Siemens 1.5T and GE 1.5T) received full UKCA clearance in May 2022
- CoverScan 1.2 (Siemens 1.5T scanner) received FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States in May 2022
CoverScan is delivered as an advanced cloud-based software suite via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, integrating seamlessly with existing clinical MR infrastructure. Perspectum also provides a curated library of scientific publications, promotional materials, clinical overviews, and educational resources — including a guide to interpreting multi-organ multiparametric MRI tissue characterization — to support healthcare professionals in adopting and utilizing the platform.
