Binah SDK
Contactless vital signs measurement using smartphone cameras and AI-powered rPPG technology for iOS, Android, and web.
Overview
Binah SDK is a Software Development Kit that delivers Binah.ai's Health Data Platform for integration into mobile apps, web applications, and other digital products. It is designed for businesses in insurance, wellness, healthcare, and pharma that want to add contactless health and wellness measurement capabilities to their existing offerings. The SDK enables users to measure a range of vital signs and health indicators using the cameras of smartphones, tablets, and smart mirrors, without requiring additional hardware or cloud services.
The underlying technology uses remote photoplethysmography (rPPG), which analyzes light reflected off exposed facial skin to extract health data. This is combined with AI, deep learning, computer vision, and signal processing algorithms. The SDK runs entirely on the end-user's device, requires no internet connection during measurement, and does not save, collect, or share any personal identifiers or health data.
Supported Platforms and Devices
- Web applications: Supports Safari and Google Chrome (mobile version); users can measure health status via a link without installing an app.
- iOS: Delivered as a standard iOS framework, supports iOS 14 and above, compatible with the App Store. Optimised for iPhone XS and above.
- Android: Delivered as a standard Android framework, supports Android 10 and above, compatible with Google Play.
- Continuous checks: Compatible with PPG sensors such as the Polar Verity Sense™ heart rate sensor, which requires skin contact.
Health Measurement Capabilities
- Contactless spot checks using smartphone or tablet cameras, with no skin contact required.
- Continuous vital signs monitoring via compatible PPG sensors.
- Heart rate reported at approximately 10 seconds; blood pressure, respiration rate, and mental stress reported within 35–60 seconds.
- Works across all sexes and skin tones; requires no demographic information from the user.
- Fall detection using the gyroscope and accelerometer of the Polar Verity Sense™ sensor: detects falls, generates timed notifications, triggers consecutive vital signs checks if unanswered, and can send location-based alerts to designated contacts. These settings are customisable.
Privacy and Data Handling
- The entire measurement process runs on the end-user's device; no internet connection is required.
- Binah.ai does not save images or videos of users.
- Binah.ai does not have access to measured health data.
- Users may opt to keep all data on their own device; no personal identifiers are saved, collected, or shared.
Integration and Deployment
- Integration tools, including a sample application, are available through Binah.ai's support centre.
- Many customers have completed integration independently within a matter of days.
- A 24/7 customer success team and a support document library are available throughout the integration process.
- No additional cloud services, hardware, or software are required.
- Multiple pricing models are available to suit different use cases and scale requirements.
- Businesses can also offer the ready-to-use Binah Check app to clients or employees as an alternative to direct SDK integration.
Binah SDK is positioned for use across insurance, wellness, and healthcare and pharma sectors. It supports both direct SDK integration into existing applications and deployment via the standalone Binah Check app, providing flexibility depending on the level of technical integration a business requires.
