WCG has introduced Activation Intelligence, an AI-driven solution aimed at expediting the startup of clinical trials.

This innovative program is designed to streamline the study activation process by automating the extraction and validation of information, which can then be reused across various workflows. In its early access phase, Activation Intelligence reportedly saved initial users over 20 hours of manual review per study, while ensuring transparency in the data utilized. This tool is part of WCG's larger Study Intelligence Hub, which focuses on integrating specialized AI to enhance consistency, reduce redundant work, and maintain team alignment throughout the trial lifecycle.

Activation Intelligence also features an AI assistant that assists users in conducting congruency checks on study data, helping to identify potential issues that could hinder trial activation. According to WCG’s CEO Sam Srivastava, this solution underscores the company's dedication to addressing operational challenges in clinical research, ultimately enabling research teams to make informed decisions and advance studies more effectively.

WCG's recent acquisition of The Contract Network further strengthens its capabilities in clinical trial initiation by enhancing alignment and decision-making processes. This integration allows WCG to predict and address inconsistencies in study documents, minimizing delays. The trend of employing AI in clinical trials is gaining momentum, as other companies like nPhase and Icon are also developing AI solutions to improve trial design and site intelligence.
