Iterative Health has successfully secured $77 million in Series C funding to enhance its AI-powered clinical trial network, aiming to broaden its research focus beyond gastroenterology and hepatology into cardiology and obesity.
The funding round, led by Intrepid Growth Partners and GV, also saw participation from EDBI and existing investors like Insight Partners. This capital will support the company's international expansion and address challenges in clinical trials, which are often hindered by slow enrollment and operational inefficiencies. Notably, over half of research sites enroll one or fewer patients per study, contributing to significant delays in drug development.
Iterative Health distinguishes itself by integrating clinical research into patient care environments, rather than relying solely on sponsor-side software. This approach aims to improve enrollment speeds and trial completion rates, positioning the company at the forefront of healthcare AI innovations. With over 100 research sites worldwide, Iterative Health claims to achieve patient enrollment rates three times higher than industry averages, significantly enhancing the speed of trial execution.
Looking ahead, the company plans to forge further partnerships with healthcare providers to embed research into routine patient care and extend its operational model into new therapeutic areas. This strategy aims to mitigate the bottlenecks currently plaguing clinical research, leveraging AI to create measurable improvements in operational efficiency within the pharmaceutical industry.
