Yokogawa CV8000

A high-resolution confocal imaging platform for cellular assays enabling live cell imaging and flexible analysis options.

Overview

The Yokogawa CV8000 is a state-of-the-art high content confocal imaging system designed for advanced cellular imaging applications. It allows for the exploration of live cell imaging in high-speed time-lapse mode, capturing up to 49 frames per second, or long-term imaging over several days, offering unmatched flexibility. The platform integrates Yokogawa's CSU-W1 confocal spinning disk with Hamamatsu's ORCA Flash 4.0 V3 sCMOS cameras, ensuring high resolution and sensitivity.

For high content analysis, researchers can use Yokogawa’s Cell Pathfinder analysis software and Wako Automation’s Wako Software Suite, which facilitate rapid low-resolution searches followed by high-resolution reimaging. The system is capable of handling complex imaging tasks such as live cell assays, tissue section imaging, and imaging of spheroids or organoids.

Key Features

  • Simultaneous acquisition in up to four channels using up to four Hamamatsu ORCA Flash 4.0 V3 sCMOS cameras.
  • Multiple objective options, including 20x, 40x, and 60x high NA water immersion objectives for enhanced light capture and resolution.
  • Dual confocal pinhole options (25µm and 50µm) to further enhance imaging quality and speed.
  • Flexibility to image in fluorescence, bright field, true phase contrast, or digital phase contrast modes.
  • Environmental controls including temperature, humidity, and CO2 to support long-term live cell imaging.
  • Minimized data storage through saving of Maximum Image Projection images and optional image compression formats.

The CV8000’s innovative design reduces phototoxicity risks and is equipped with a laser-based autofocus system suitable for imaging in 384-well plates. It can perform extended live cell imaging with complete environmental control for maintaining cell health throughout the process.

Additional capabilities include optional FRET mode, a machine learning module for image analysis, and a texture analysis feature to discern subtle cellular state differences. This platform is ideal for scientists looking for a versatile and powerful solution for high resolution imaging needs.
