Sedeen Viewer
A virtual slide viewer supporting various image formats, offering annotation, cropping, resizing, and image analysis capabilities.
Overview
The Sedeen Viewer is a versatile virtual slide viewer available for personal, academic, or non-commercial use. It supports a wide range of proprietary whole slide image formats, including Aperio SVS, Leica SCN, TIFF-based formats, and JPEG-2000 images, making it a universal choice for viewing digital slides.
Sedeen provides a variety of markup and annotation tools, such as polygon, ruler, arrow, rectangle, oval, and freehand drawing options. Annotations can be exported in XML format for integration with other software.
With multi-modality overlays and registration features, Sedeen enables powerful image stacking, alignment, and transparency controls. This allows users to visualize protein expression and localization, relate multiple serial sections, and compare histology images with other modalities like MRI, CT, and ultrasound.
The viewer includes robust cropping and resizing tools, allowing users to segment virtual slides into smaller sections for publications, emails, and analysis. These tasks can be performed individually or in batch mode.
Color correction and pseudo-color features are also available, enabling the application of pseudo-color to grayscale images, which is particularly useful for viewing fluorescent images. Users can adjust brightness, contrast, and gamma correction of RGB images.
Sedeen comes with built-in image analysis tools, and users can develop custom analysis algorithms using the Pathcore SDK, offering flexibility for specialized research needs.
Feedback is encouraged to improve Sedeen, though it is noted that the software is for personal, non-commercial use, and support and maintenance are not guaranteed.
