ReDBox

ReDBox, or Research Data Box, is an open-source Research Data Management platform designed to assist researchers and institutions in planning, creating, and publishing their research data assets. It is widely used across many Australian universities and plays a crucial role in supporting the Australian research community by facilitating the description and sharing of information about research data collections.

Developed and led by QCIF, ReDBox offers a range of services, including a support subscription service for institutions. This platform is recognized as one of the most popular research data management solutions in Australia.

ReDBox has been adopted by several universities, including Southern Cross University, which has committed to ongoing deployment after a successful pilot. Deakin University has upgraded to the QCIF-managed ReDBox 4.0 platform, hosted securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS), highlighting the platform's adaptability and robust cloud-based capabilities.

Recent updates include the release of ReDBox version 3.5, which introduced several enhancements, and the organization of community events to discuss the future roadmap and best practices in research data management. The University of Auckland has also trialed ReDBox, marking its first use outside Australia.
