PIVirtualMove

Software for motion verification and workspace calculation for hexapods and 6DoF Nanocube.

Overview

PIVirtualMove is a program designed for motion verification and workspace calculation specifically for hexapods and the 6DoF Nanocube. It addresses the complexities of multi-axis mechanics where not all points within the range of individual axes are reachable. The software considers the limits of the permitted workspace, which vary based on the current position, installation position, and the forces and torques acting on the motion platform.

Key functionalities of PIVirtualMove include:

  • Verifying the reachability of positions based on mounting position and load, considering both force and position workspace.
  • Allowing free definition of the coordinate system, pivot point, mounting position, and loads.
  • Enabling selection of mechanics from a database with links to data sheets.

The software operates independently of a controller or positioner connection, making it a versatile solution for system selection and planning. PIVirtualMove is the successor to the PIHexapodSimulationTool, offering enhanced capabilities.

Emulators

For early implementation of customer software, PI provides emulation software that simulates a complete hexapod system or the latest controller platform as a virtual machine on a host PC. This allows for development, testing, and optimization of user programs prior to system delivery.

PIControllerEmulatorGCS3.0

This emulator replicates the controller's behavior related to GCS3.0 input, enabling code testing without hardware. It simplifies automation and supports front-loading and virtual commissioning, allowing preparation for integration before the delivery of the controller and positioners. Communication with the emulated controller is via TCP/IP, compatible with PIMikroMove or known APIs.

PIHexapodEmulator

This program emulates the C-887 hexapod controller, the connected hexapod, and two additional axes. It is designed for users who wish to test hexapod system behavior on GCS command inputs without the actual hexapod controller. The simulated system can be operated with PIMikroMove or any TCP/IP connection.

To utilize the emulators, installation of the PI Software Suite is required, with necessary files included in the package.
