Perseus

Perseus is a software solution designed to streamline the conversion of healthcare data into the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM). This process is crucial for organizing diverse data sources into a unified relational database structure. Traditionally, the extract, transform, and load (ETL) process required significant technical skills and domain expertise. However, Perseus offers a user-friendly visual environment that simplifies this conversion, making it accessible even to those without extensive technical knowledge.

The software employs a straightforward three-step process: pre-processing, mapping, and conversion. During pre-processing, users can import data assets such as White Rabbit scan reports, combine source tables, and review the data. The mapping phase allows users to save and open existing mappings, create custom lookups for concept_id fields, and map source data to target tables and fields. Users can also define logic for creating eras and grouping records, as well as set up transformations and vocabulary lookups. Finally, the conversion step involves transforming the source data into the CDM format, with progress tracking and result export options for offline review.
