Interfacer
Middleware for seamless integration of clinical instruments with LIMS, SDMS, or ELN to automate data transfer and analysis.
Overview
The Interfacer is a configurable middleware designed to facilitate the integration of clinical diagnostic instruments with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Sample Data Management Systems (SDMS), and Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN). Its driverless design allows for the easy connection with both new and legacy instruments that may not have prebuilt drivers.
This middleware supports both unidirectional and bidirectional communication with clinical and in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices, enabling seamless data acquisition and analysis.
Key Features
- Device Parsing: It is capable of parsing and extracting data from clinical and IVD devices.
- Test Extraction: The powerful parsing engine can extract test results from IVD devices efficiently.
- Open Protocol Communication: Configurable protocols reduce integration time and costs, allowing for market-wide instrument compatibility.
- Driverless Communication: Instruments without pre-existing drivers can be interfaced through a one-time configuration.
- Complete Integration: Allows seamless connectivity with external databases and systems.
The Interfacer also includes a user-friendly test mapping feature, simplifying the mapping of instrument data to LIMS parameters. This greatly enhances the workflow for laboratories by allowing straightforward data extraction from instrument output files.
Integration Capabilities
It is compatible with various Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), LIMS, SDMS, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), supporting both file-based and database-level integration methods. It also offers HL7-based integration to connect with clinical instruments efficiently.
The solution is widely adopted in a range of settings including clinical diagnostic labs, biopharmaceutical companies, referral laboratories, and Clinical Research Organisations (CROs). Leading pharma and life science organizations rely on Interfacer for its robust integration and data management capabilities.
