Clonogenic Assay Module
Quantifies colony formation, tracking number, size, and circularity over time.
Overview
The Clonogenic Assay Module enables precise monitoring and quantification of cell proliferation and colony formation. It offers a seamless way to track colony formation over time, providing metrics such as the number of colonies, their size, and circularity. This module is designed to work in conjunction with the Omni platform, allowing comprehensive data analysis of every well in a plate, thanks to its intuitive software interface.
Key Features:
- Accurate: The integration with the Omni platform supports both label-free cell monitoring and fluorescence-based assays, contributing dynamic visual results to experiments.
- Fast: Advanced image analysis with innovative machine-learning algorithms reduces user-to-user variability and speeds up the detection process.
- Powerful: Provides extensive data assessment, including count, size, and circularity of colonies in various samples.
This module is an in vitro cell survival assay that assesses the capacity of single cells to survive treatments and reproduce to form colonies. The use of Omni devices allows continuous observation of colony growth over an extended period, bypassing the limitation of single time-point data acquisition.
For instance, the integrated colony detection algorithm automatically detects and computes the number of colonies per well. A zoom feature enables users to focus on specific wells, with a colony mask overlay highlighting individual cell clusters.
Metrics provided include:
- Count: Number of colonies formed.
- Size (µm²): Average area or size of colonies.
- Circularity: Average colony circularity.
This module is also adept at counting colonies and tracking growth throughout an entire plate, making it an invaluable resource for related applications.
