Overview

Suvoda's Patient App (ePatient) is a mobile application designed for clinical trial participants and the sites, CROs, and sponsors that support them. Built on the patented Suvoda Platform, it consolidates visit scheduling, patient payments, travel management, eCOA questionnaires, and reminders into a single interface. Patients can use their own device or a provisioned one, and the app is designed using user-centered, consumer-grade design principles to reduce the administrative burden on both patients and site staff.

Because ePatient is built on the same unified platform as Suvoda's IRT, eConsent, and eCOA products, study teams and patients access all tools through a single sign-on. A shared data layer across the platform reduces data reconciliation, minimises human error, and supports trial integrity and data security. Role- and permission-based access controls ensure users only see the information relevant to their role, protecting the study blind.

Core Patient-Facing Capabilities

  • Scheduling: patients can view, manage, and self-select appointment times directly within the app from a curated list provided by the site.
  • eCOA: patients answer patient-reported outcome questionnaires through the same app using a single sign-on.
  • Greenphire Travel: patients can view travel itineraries including flight, hotel, and rideshare arrangements.
  • Greenphire Patient Payments: patients can receive, view, and manage reimbursements and account balances.
  • Reminders and notifications: automated appointment reminders and text notifications keep patients informed of their visit schedule.

Payment Features

  • Digitised reimbursement payments support requesting and approving expenses within the app.
  • Patient payments can be automated so that reimbursement is triggered immediately upon completion of a visit or submission of an eCOA questionnaire.
  • Multiple payment methods are supported depending on region, including virtual debit card, physical debit card, and ACH transfer.
  • Patient payments and reimbursements are supported in over 210 countries and over 100 currencies.
  • Integration with eClinical systems such as EDC reduces manual effort for site staff.

Appointment Scheduling Features

  • Self-serve scheduling allows patients to select appointment times directly in the app.
  • Sites can provide a curated list of available times, reducing back-and-forth coordination.
  • Multiple practitioner calendars are synced automatically to generate a single availability calendar for patients.
  • Appointments can be synced with Microsoft and Google calendar integrations.

Efficiency for Sites, CROs, and Sponsors

  • Sites, CROs, and sponsors have a single platform to manage time-sensitive patient and drug supply interactions when IRT, eConsent, and eCOA are part of the study.
  • Automated patient payment processes and online reimbursement submission and review reduce administrative workload.
  • Sponsors and sites can view which patients have logged into the app and which reimbursement requests are awaiting approval.
  • Payment requests can be reviewed and approved individually or in bulk.
  • Reports drawing on shared platform data provide visibility into patient payments, data collection, trial management, and protocol adherence.

Platform Architecture and Security

  • All Suvoda products share a single data layer, reducing the need for data reconciliation across systems.
  • Best-in-class security standards are applied to maintain the confidentiality of patient data.
  • Role- and permission-based access controls limit information access to what each user requires.
  • A single project team supports all interconnected Suvoda products, providing a unified support experience for sites, CROs, and sponsors.

The app supports global clinical trials with multi-country and multi-currency payment capabilities. Its interface follows the minimalist design conventions of the broader Suvoda Platform, and the unified architecture means study teams move between ePatient, eConsent, IRT, and eCOA without separate logins or disconnected workflows.
