Panorama
Central repository for targeted mass spectrometry data management, Skyline integration, and continuous instrument performance monitoring.
Overview
Panorama is a cloud-based targeted mass spectrometry software developed by LabKey in partnership with the MacCoss Lab at the University of Washington — the same team behind Skyline. It serves as a central data repository for managing Skyline analysis results, enabling laboratories to aggregate, curate, and share experiment data within a unified, secure platform. Panorama is designed for life sciences organizations that rely on targeted mass spectrometry workflows and need to maintain data integrity, monitor instrument performance, and support iterative method development.
By integrating tightly with Skyline, Panorama creates an end-to-end workflow that connects raw analysis results with sample metadata, quality control monitoring, and collaborative data sharing. Organizations using Panorama also gain direct access to the Panorama and Skyline development teams, allowing them to influence the direction of ongoing product development to meet their specific needs.
Skyline Document Repository
- Automatically upload Skyline files for curation, sharing, and further analysis.
- Search and report across multiple experiments or through multiple versions of a single document.
- Use fine-grained permissions to control data accessibility and publishing for collaborators.
- Leverage the Reproducibility Report to visualize assay reproducibility and identify which peptides perform best.
System Suitability and QC Monitoring
- Continuously monitor incoming data and evaluate LC-MS/MS instrument performance over time to quickly identify potential issues.
- A QC dashboard provides a high-level overview of the status of mass spectrometry instruments and related files.
- Generate interactive QC plots including Levey-Jennings, Moving Range, and CUSUM charts to identify outliers and performance trends.
Multi-Attribute Method (MAM) Support
- Panorama includes MAM-specific reporting and analytics, delivering immediate results and data sharing for any imported MAM data.
- Automated workflows via Panorama and AutoQC enable longitudinal tracking of MAM-related metrics for quality control purposes.
- Detect previously unidentified features that may represent peptide variants or contaminants during protein characterization.
Sample Management
- Register samples with all required metadata and track them throughout their entire life cycle.
- Unify sample records with their related targeted mass spectrometry data for a complete, connected view.
- Maintain an audit-ready log of all actions performed on each sample to support compliance and traceability.
Data Management and Integrations
- Supports assay data management, quality control and trend reporting, and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processing.
- Integrates with major databases including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and Amazon Redshift.
- Includes cloud hosting with user management, access control, LDAP, single sign-on, and two-factor authentication.
Panorama is available as an annual subscription that includes the Starter Edition of LabKey Server SDMS, cloud hosting, customized training for administrators and users, premium documentation, and regular meetings with a dedicated account manager and the Skyline development team. This makes it well suited for organizations seeking a fully supported, enterprise-grade targeted mass spectrometry data management solution.
