Overview
EDGE Research Management is a clinical research management system developed by the Clinical Informatics Research Unit at the University of Southampton, UK. It is designed for research managers, data analysts, research nurses, clinicians, pharmacists, clinical trial assistants, research governance officers, and other research support professionals. The system enables users to track and manage studies from initiation to completion, with real-time access to data and full oversight of participant recruitment.
EDGE is deployed across more than 90% of England's NHS regions, as well as in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Internationally, the system is in use in Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, South Africa, and other countries. The platform currently manages over 11 million participants and supports more than 38,000 active users.
