Binah Connect
Continuous vital signs and biomarker monitoring via PPG sensors, with fall detection and wellness tracking for remote health management.
Overview
Binah Connect is a ready-to-use application developed by Binah.ai for continuous health and wellness monitoring. It is built around the Polar Verity Sense™ optical heart rate sensor and is designed for organizations that need to monitor end users' vital signs and biomarkers remotely without undertaking custom app development. Target use cases include chronic disease management, remote and home care, elderly care, fall detection, employee wellness, critical skills operator monitoring, and virtual clinical trials.
The app receives raw PPG (Photoplethysmograph) signals from the Polar Verity Sense™ via Bluetooth, processes those signals to reduce noise and optimize the signal-to-noise ratio, and then applies Binah.ai's neural network models and mathematical algorithms to generate physiological and biological biomarker estimates. Results are sent directly to the customer's cloud; Binah.ai does not have access to end-user measurement data. Measurement intervals are configurable by account administrators, ranging from every 3 to 120 minutes, and users can also perform on-demand spot checks at any time.
Health and Wellness Indicators Tracked
- Vital Signs and Health: Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Breathing Rate / Respiratory Rate, Pulse-Respiration Quotient (PRQ)
- Stress and Wellness: Sympathetic Stress, Parasympathetic Stress / Activity, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Binah Wellness Score
- Activity and Safety: Fall Detection, Low Activity Alerts, Step Counter (syncs with device step counter)
How Binah Connect Works
- The end user wears the Polar Verity Sense™ on their arm; the device continuously delivers PPG signals to the Binah Connect app via Bluetooth.
- The app applies a noise reduction process to optimize the signal-to-noise ratio and compensate for multiple condition limitations.
- Binah.ai's neural network models with custom-made features process the signals to generate vital sign and biomarker estimates.
- The processed results are sent directly to the customer's cloud with no additional integration required.
Fall Detection Functionality
- Uses the gyroscope and accelerometer of the Polar Verity Sense™ to detect falls.
- On detection, the system generates a timed notification prompting the user to respond.
- If the notification goes unanswered, the system triggers two consecutive vital signs checks.
- An alert including the location of the event can be sent to designated contacts.
- Notification and alert settings are customizable to the organization's requirements.
Key Operational Characteristics
- No app development or integration work required for deployment.
- Measurement checks run at intervals between 3 and 120 minutes, set by account admins.
- Continuous data is sent directly to the customer's cloud; Binah.ai retains no access to end-user data.
- Supports on-demand spot checks in addition to scheduled continuous monitoring.
- Upcoming indicators on the roadmap include sleep analysis, perfusion index (PI), and hemoglobin.
Device Compatibility
- PPG sensor: Polar Verity Sense™ optical heart rate sensor.
- iOS: iPhone XS and later, running iOS 14 or above.
- Android: Android 10+ (API level 29 and above), CPU ARMV8-a architecture, minimum 3 GB RAM.
Binah Connect is positioned for organizations in insurance, wellness, healthcare, and pharma that require continuous remote monitoring without building a custom solution. Because measurement data flows directly to the customer's cloud and Binah.ai has no access to it, the app is designed to address privacy considerations at the architectural level.
