Automated Statistics
Automatic statistical test selection and analysis for clinical research studies, with real-time updates and auto-generated manuscript text.
Overview
Automated Statistics is a feature of EasyMedStat, an application designed for clinical researchers. It automatically selects the most appropriate statistical test based on the user's clinical question and dataset, removing the need for manual test selection. The tool targets clinicians and researchers who need to perform statistical analyses and produce publication-ready content for articles and reports.
The application supports more than 25 statistical tests and updates results dynamically as study data changes. It is intended to help researchers avoid common statistical errors and reduce the likelihood of reviewer criticism during the publication process.
Automated Test Selection
- Analyzes both the dataset and the clinical question to identify the most appropriate statistical test.
- Supports over 25 statistical tests across a range of study designs and data types.
- Removes the need for the researcher to manually determine which test applies to their question.
Dynamic Statistics Updates
- When a new patient is added to the study or an existing record is edited, all statistical outputs are recalculated automatically.
- Keeps results current throughout the data collection process without requiring manual re-runs.
Generated Methods and Results Text
- Each time a statistical test is performed, two text sections are automatically generated: one for the Results section and one for the Methods section of an article or report.
- Generated text uses appropriate statistical language, helping researchers avoid overinterpretation of results.
- Aims to reduce the risk of criticism from peer reviewers regarding statistical reporting.
Kaplan-Meier Survival Analysis
- Survival analyses can be initiated with a single click.
- Outputs include Kaplan-Meier estimates, survival median, and comparisons of survival across patient groups.
- Additional survival indicators are provided as part of the analysis output.
Automated Multivariate Analysis
- Supports identification of predictive factors through an automated multivariate analysis workflow.
- The researcher selects a predictive factor and the relevant explanatory variables; the application then builds the statistical model.
- Designed to simplify the process of constructing and interpreting multivariate models in clinical research.
Automated Statistics is part of the broader EasyMedStat platform. The application is available in English and French, and prospective users can access a demo through the EasyMedStat website.
