Find a Lead is a target-based antibody discovery tool developed by Converge Bio, accessible through the Converge WebApp. It aggregates known antibodies against a user-specified target from curated public databases, patent disclosures, published studies, and clinical records, and presents the results — including full sequences, measured affinities, IP status, and clinical stage — in seconds rather than the weeks typically required to assemble this information manually.

The tool is designed for drug discovery teams seeking to identify and evaluate existing antibody leads before committing to a program. It addresses the practical problem that relevant antibody data is often fragmented across patent filings, open databases, and clinical registries in forms that are difficult to use directly. Find a Lead consolidates this information into a structured, ranked, and downloadable format.

Search and Ranking

• Users enter a target name, gene symbol, or synonym to initiate a search.
• Results can be ranked by user-defined criteria, including number of measurements, humanness, clinical maturity, cross-reactivity, freedom to operate, and affinity.
• Rankings update live as users adjust the priority order of criteria, allowing the table to reflect what matters most to a specific program.
• Up to five free target searches are available in the Converge WebApp before expanded usage is required.

Data Coverage and Sourcing

• Each result includes the antibody format, measured affinity, IP status, and clinical stage.
• A target-level summary panel shows how many antibodies exist against the target, how many have reached the clinic, and how much of the surrounding IP has lapsed.
• All values are linked back to their source — measured and published values are reported as sourced, while any value computed by Converge is explicitly labeled as a prediction rather than a measurement.
• Full VH and VL sequences are included when available in the published or patent record, with CDRs annotated to IMGT numbering and source traceability provided.

Per-Lead Reports

• Clicking any lead opens a detailed report covering binding and potency data across multiple assays, each with the assay method identified.
• Reports also include clinical and preclinical maturity, cross-reactivity, developability, and immunogenicity information.
• Sequence-level liabilities are flagged, including liability motifs, humanness per chain, and thermal stability.
• IP claim status is shown with expiry dates, identifying areas where a lead may be weak or where there may be room to develop an improved molecule.
• Reports are downloadable as files for use outside the platform.

Privacy and Transparency

• User searches and program data remain private, handled according to Converge Bio's security and data-protection practices.
• The tool distinguishes clearly between measured data and AI-generated predictions, with every value traceable to its source.
• Freedom-to-operate determinations are noted as remaining with the user and their legal counsel; the tool provides IP status information but does not make legal conclusions.
