Overview

Alexandria® is the Atropos Evidence™ Library developed by Atropos Health, described as the world's largest body of medical evidence for clinical decision support and large language model (LLM) training. It is designed for use across the healthcare ecosystem, including clinicians, researchers, health systems, and life sciences partners, enabling them to generate precise answers to complex medical questions. The library currently contains 33 million precision Evidence-Based Findings (pEBF™), with a target of 2 billion pEBFs by the end of 2026, which Atropos Health states would exceed all known medical evidence by 100x in volume.

Alexandria addresses evidence gaps by including patient populations that are frequently seen in clinical practice but underrepresented in randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The content within Alexandria is described as novel and unique, not available through published literature or other platforms, and spans multiple disease states, clinical specialties, treatment areas, conditions, regions, and institutions.

Data Quality and Validation

  • Every finding is validated through a multi-layered quality system applied at each step of the evidence generation process.
  • An LLM acts as a jury for each question, evaluating answers and surfacing a badge to indicate how well the question is "Answered with Evidence."
  • AI review is applied to every precision Real-World Evidence (pRWE™) summary to verify that each answer matches the question asked.
  • An optional expert clinician review layer is available on demand for the highest level of accuracy.
  • Independent third-party review by an international publisher, comparable to peer review, is applied to maintain quality throughout the process.

Content and Access Features

  • Provides immediate access to 33 million pEBFs upon installation, with the library continuing to grow.
  • Covers a broad range of treatment areas, conditions, geographic regions, and institutions.
  • Fills evidence gaps for populations underrepresented in RCTs.
  • Accessible via automation tools for question-and-answer workflows, reducing the cost implications of delayed decision-making.
  • Designed to integrate into existing workflows without requiring additional IT investments or infrastructure.

Collaboration and Research Capabilities

  • Functions as an interactive observational research center where clinicians and collaborators can build and contribute to the evidence library.
  • Users can search by interest area, modify and re-run observational studies, and collaborate with others.
  • Supports contribution of original studies and ideas, as well as tracking of recent developments in a given area.
  • Access to Atropos Health's clinical expert team is available for observational research consultations, guidance, and inspiration.

Reported Performance

  • In a recent evaluation across 5,000 real physician questions, Alexandria demonstrated a 2–3x increase in "Answers with Evidence" compared to other LLMs.
  • Coverage spans multiple disease states and clinical specialties.

Alexandria is positioned within the broader Atropos Health technology platform alongside automation tools such as ChatRWD®, Green Button®, Forge®, and the Atropos Evidence™ Agent, as well as data infrastructure including GENEVA OS® and the Atropos Evidence™ Network. It serves use cases across health systems (pharmacy, research informatics, value-based care, graduate medical education) and life sciences functions (brand planning, HEOR, medical affairs, RWE, research and development, and commercial analytics).
