Wave Hackathon 2026 successfully showcased how global collaboration can drive practical AI innovations aimed at addressing real-world challenges.
The event, organized by New iDea Solutions LLC with support from the ACM Seattle Chapter, attracted over 100 participants, including engineers, researchers, and AI practitioners. Running from May 27 to June 26, 2026, the hackathon focused on developing scalable AI applications across four key domains: healthcare, cybersecurity, finance, and data ethics. Unlike typical hackathons that prioritize rapid prototyping, this event employed a two-phase format, requiring teams to submit detailed technical proposals before advancing to the development stage.
Showcase Day, held on June 26, highlighted the culmination of participants' efforts, featuring presentations of AI-powered solutions that tackled critical issues such as clinical decision support and intelligent threat detection. The event also included expert talks and discussions on the intersection of technology and industry, further enriching the experience for attendees.
Notably, Team Mind Merge emerged as the Grand Champion, exemplifying the hackathon's mission to transform innovative concepts into practical applications. The event underscored the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the need for responsible AI solutions, reinforcing the role of such initiatives in shaping the future of technology in various sectors.
