Vultr has announced the opening of a new cloud data center in Milan, marking its ninth facility in Europe and its 33rd globally, as part of its initiative to enhance AI and cloud infrastructure in the region.

The new Milan data center joins Vultr's existing European locations, which include cities like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London. This facility will provide comprehensive AI infrastructure and GPU services utilizing advanced technology from NVIDIA and AMD.

According to J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Vultr, Italy is rapidly emerging as a key player in the cloud infrastructure sector, with Milan at its core. The company aims to meet the demands of enterprises and developers who require efficient cloud solutions that avoid the complexities and costs associated with traditional hyperscalers. This investment is positioned as a long-term commitment to supporting AI innovation in Europe.

The Milan center is designed to cater to a variety of workloads, including AI applications, SaaS platforms, and databases. Additionally, Vultr has established connections with the Milan Internet Exchange (MIX), enhancing network efficiency by enabling direct peering and minimizing latency for local traffic.
