Vodafone and Geely Technology Europe have solidified their partnership to enhance vehicle connectivity, focusing on in-car digital services and secure data infrastructure.

The collaboration aims to expand Vodafone's Internet in the Car, Mobile Private Networks, and Cloud Connect offerings, which already support diagnostics and over-the-air software updates for Geely’s vehicles in Europe. This initiative allows for compliant internet access across over 30 countries, improving in-vehicle infotainment and digital services. The Cloud Connect feature facilitates secure data transfers between vehicles and cloud systems, enhancing functionalities like Zeekr Navigation, which benefits from real-time customer feedback to optimize software deployment.

Geely Technology Europe is at the forefront of developing vehicle architectures that leverage this connectivity for innovative services, including dynamic electric vehicle charging and advanced navigation features. With projections indicating that over 98% of new passenger vehicles will be connected by 2030, Vodafone's IoT platform is already supporting a vast network of over 240 million connections worldwide.

This partnership reflects a broader trend where vehicles are evolving beyond mere transportation. Giovanni Lanfranchi, CEO of Geely Technology Europe, emphasized that data and connectivity now enable continuous improvements in user experience. As electric vehicle adoption accelerates, the potential for enhancing safety and efficiency through digital connectivity becomes increasingly significant, positioning Vodafone and Geely as key players in this transformation.
