Vodafone Business has strengthened its partnership with Geely Technology Europe, focusing on advancing connected car technologies across Europe.

The collaboration now includes a suite of services designed for enhanced vehicle connectivity, such as Internet in the Car, Mobile Private Networks, and Cloud Connect solutions. These innovations enable critical functionalities like diagnostics and over-the-air software updates, ensuring secure data transfer between vehicles and cloud servers. This capability allows Geely to monitor vehicle performance in real-time, enhancing the overall driver experience.

Geely Technology Europe is instrumental in developing advanced vehicle architectures and digital platforms, which integrate features such as 3D lane guidance and dynamic electric vehicle charging planning. Giovanni Lanfranchi, CEO of Geely Technology Europe, highlighted the shift from traditional transport solutions to vehicles that can be continuously improved through software, leveraging data and connectivity for a more personalized user experience.

With the integration of customer feedback systems like Zeekr Navigation, Geely can swiftly address user insights, thereby shortening development cycles and enhancing vehicle reliability. Fanan Henriques from Vodafone emphasized the pivotal role of digital connectivity in improving vehicle safety and efficiency, particularly as electric vehicles gain traction. As the market for connected vehicles expands, Vodafone and Geely are poised to lead this evolution, backed by a robust IoT connectivity platform and adherence to international standards in cybersecurity and data protection.

This partnership not only positions them to capitalize on the anticipated growth—whereby over 98% of new passenger vehicles are expected to be connected by 2030—but also signifies a transformative approach to the automotive industry, where connectivity is central to enhancing user experiences and operational efficiency.
