VERAXA Biotech has announced the advancement of its bispecific antibody drug conjugate (bsADC) program, VXA-222, following a successful milestone in collaboration with OmniAb. This innovative therapy targets two distinct tumor antigens simultaneously, utilizing an “AND-gate” mechanism.

VXA-222 represents a significant step forward in cancer treatment, addressing solid tumors that currently have high unmet medical needs. The collaboration leverages OmniAb’s advanced antibody discovery technologies alongside VERAXA’s proprietary linker and conjugation methods to create a promising new therapeutic candidate. The partnership, initiated in May 2025, aims to harness the strengths of both organizations to enhance the efficacy of cancer therapies.

VERAXA plans to utilize OmniAb's transgenic antibody discovery tools to source optimized human antibody leads, which will then undergo rigorous testing and validation. The company retains exclusive rights to develop and commercialize products derived from this collaboration, while OmniAb will receive a share of the revenues generated.

This advancement in the VXA-222 program underscores the potential of bispecific ADCs in oncology. As the treatment landscape evolves, such innovative approaches could significantly improve patient outcomes by targeting multiple tumor antigens, paving the way for more effective cancer therapies in the future.
