Tidalsense Ltd. has successfully secured $19 million in funding to advance its AI-driven diagnostic platform aimed at identifying chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The company’s N-Tidal Diagnose platform offers a rapid diagnostic test that can detect COPD within five minutes. This innovative approach involves a simple procedure where users breathe normally into a handheld device for 75 seconds, capturing a carbon dioxide breath waveform. The data is then analyzed using artificial intelligence to determine the presence of COPD.
The funding will primarily facilitate commercialization efforts across the U.K., Ireland, and Europe, while also preparing for entry into the U.S. market. Additionally, Tidalsense plans to expand its platform to address other respiratory conditions, such as asthma, enhancing its portfolio in the respiratory diagnostics space.
This significant investment underscores the growing interest in AI applications within healthcare, particularly for conditions like COPD that require timely and accurate diagnostics. As Tidalsense moves forward, its platform could potentially transform how respiratory diseases are diagnosed and managed, improving patient outcomes through faster intervention.
