The Government of Telangana is set to launch India's inaugural Green Skills & Applied AI Centre of Excellence, aimed at enhancing the state's life sciences sector.

In partnership with Microsoft India and the MeitY Startup Hub, this initiative is designed to position Telangana as a leader in sustainable life sciences manufacturing while fostering a skilled workforce. The Centre, expected to commence operations by August 2026, will primarily focus on imparting industry-relevant skills in Applied AI, sustainable manufacturing, and other emerging technologies.

This development aligns with the Telangana Next-Generation Life Sciences Policy 2026–30, which emphasizes sustainability and the integration of advanced technologies into workforce training. The initiative aims to generate over five lakh jobs in the life sciences ecosystem, addressing the growing demand for a tech-savvy workforce in the pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing sectors.

As Telangana moves forward with this Centre, it not only strengthens its commitment to sustainability but also prepares its youth for the future job market, highlighting the importance of innovation in driving economic growth in the life sciences industry.
