Salesforce has recently reported that over 140 life sciences organizations, including major players like Novartis and AstraZeneca, are utilizing its Agentforce Life Sciences platform. This announcement came during the Veeva Commercial Summit, where Salesforce emphasized its AI-driven approach across various engagement areas in the life sciences sector.

Joe Ferraro, Salesforce's SVP and GM of life sciences, highlighted that their platform supports a wide array of functions, from patient and clinical engagement to commercial interactions. He noted that Salesforce has been at the forefront of AI development for the last decade, positioning their offerings as distinct from competitors like Veeva Systems, which is also advancing its own AI capabilities.

Salesforce's strategy includes a "headless" architecture, allowing clients to integrate their existing AI tools with Salesforce's workflows. This flexibility enables organizations to leverage their investments in AI without being confined to Salesforce's internal interfaces. In contrast, Veeva's AI solutions are designed to operate primarily within their own applications, focusing on in-context functionality.

As the life sciences industry increasingly adopts AI technologies, Salesforce aims to enhance operational efficiency, enabling faster onboarding and improved data management through its agentic AI framework. This evolution reflects a broader trend in the sector towards integrating advanced technology to streamline processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.
