Raigad has been designated as a 'Model District' under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), marking a significant step in Maharashtra's digital health transformation efforts.

The designation aims to enhance digital healthcare services, improve health record integration, and foster a connected healthcare ecosystem. All 383 government health facilities in Raigad have successfully adopted ABDM-enabled Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS), with ongoing efforts to include private healthcare institutions in this initiative.

A recent workshop in Panvel, attended by key officials from the National Health Authority (NHA) and the Maharashtra government, outlined a strategic roadmap for the implementation of ABDM. Dr. Sunil Barnwal, CEO of the NHA, highlighted Raigad's potential to set a benchmark for successful digital health infrastructure deployment in the state. He stressed the importance of linking health records, enhancing paperless workflows, and boosting participation from both public and private sectors.

Dr. Pankaj Arora, Director of ABDM, emphasized the need for rapid adoption of digital health technologies in Raigad, suggesting that insights gained here could inform similar initiatives across Maharashtra and India. The collaborative efforts from various stakeholders aim to position Raigad as a testbed for advancing digital health solutions, potentially serving as a model for scaling ABDM nationwide.
