Plazza, a quick medicine delivery startup, has successfully secured $15 million in Series A funding, aimed at expanding its store network and enhancing its technology capabilities.

The funding round was co-led by Accel, Elevation Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners, with contributions from existing investors like All In Capital and Better Capital. Founder Aman Priyadarshi noted that the capital will facilitate the launch of approximately 10 new stores in Bengaluru within the next eight weeks, with a goal of reaching 20 stores in the city by year-end. The company also plans to extend its reach to other cities over the next few years, targeting a total of over 3,000 stores.

Plazza differentiates itself in the competitive pharmacy market by focusing on rapid delivery times, aiming for deliveries within 15-30 minutes. Unlike traditional pharmacies that have limited inventories, Plazza leverages artificial intelligence to manage a larger stock of over 40,000 SKUs. This AI-driven approach allows the company to tailor inventory to specific local demands, thereby improving prescription fill rates and customer satisfaction.

The investment will also bolster Plazza's technological infrastructure, enhancing its AI capabilities for inventory management and assortment intelligence. As the organized pharmacy sector continues to evolve, Plazza's innovative model positions it well to compete against established players, capitalizing on the growing demand for quick and efficient pharmaceutical services.
