PredictMe, a Swedish HealthTech startup, has successfully raised SEK 5 million in seed funding to enhance its AI-driven platform aimed at early disease detection through epigenetic analysis.

Based in Linköping, PredictMe's recent funding round, led by entrepreneur Linus Gunnarson, will facilitate the expansion of its innovative artificial intelligence system. This platform is designed to identify diseases prior to the onset of clinical symptoms, marking a significant advancement in preventive medicine.

The startup, founded by Professors Maria Lerm and Mika Gustafsson from Linköping University, utilizes epigenetic insights to understand how environmental influences and lifestyle choices affect gene regulation. In contrast to traditional DNA analysis, PredictMe's approach focuses on dynamic biological markers. Their AI model, trained on extensive data from 150,000 individuals, analyzes nearly 60 billion data points to generate actionable insights for healthcare providers.

PredictMe has already introduced PredictMe Delta, a commercial blood test that assesses biological age through DNA methylation analysis. This test serves as a critical health indicator, particularly useful in oncology and surgical planning, providing clinical decision support within 24 hours to help identify high-risk patients more effectively.

This funding follows earlier grants from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and Vinnova, highlighting PredictMe's commitment to integrating data-driven insights into clinical practice. As healthcare increasingly shifts towards personalized and preventive models, the company's growth reflects the rising prominence of Swedish life sciences in the global HealthTech landscape, where academic research is being transformed into scalable diagnostic solutions.
