Philips Korea has entered into a partnership with Yongin Severance Hospital to enhance the development of smart hospitals, focusing on sharing expertise and advancing AI and digital health initiatives.
This collaboration is designed to leverage Yongin Severance Hospital's experiences in smart hospital operations for the benefit of healthcare institutions globally. The initiative aims to create digital health models that are responsive to real-world clinical requirements, indicating a shift towards more user-centered healthcare solutions.
Yongin Severance Hospital has implemented various digital technologies, including a real-time location system (RTLS) for tracking medical staff and equipment, and an Integrated Response Situation Room (IRS) for centralized monitoring of hospital operations. The hospital has worked closely with Philips Korea since its inception in 2019 to develop a comprehensive digital health strategy based on a Digital Health Maturity Assessment.
Through this MOU, both organizations plan to facilitate benchmarking programs and partnerships across Asia, enhancing the implementation of user-focused AI and digital health strategies. Philips Korea has already initiated exchanges with multiple healthcare institutions in five Asian countries, further underscoring the potential for expanded global collaboration in smart hospital initiatives.
This partnership highlights the importance of integrating user experiences into healthcare technology advancements, as emphasized by Choi Nak-hoon of Philips Korea. As Park Jin-oh of Yongin Severance Hospital noted, the collaboration aims to strengthen ties with both domestic and international healthcare entities while advancing tailored digital health solutions.
