Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) is set to collaborate with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru to integrate Artificial Intelligence into advanced diagnostics and patient care.
This partnership aims to leverage NIMS's clinical expertise alongside IISc's research capabilities to develop AI-driven healthcare solutions and precision medicine applications. Discussions have already taken place involving senior management from NIMS and representatives from the TANUH Foundation and IISc's Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence in Healthcare.
The collaboration will facilitate multi-centre AI healthcare studies and the joint creation of AI tools designed for patient care. It will also focus on clinical data-driven research and translational AI, emphasizing the transition of innovations from research environments to practical clinical applications.
This strategic alliance is expected to enhance patient care and outcomes significantly. Formal steps to establish the partnership are anticipated to be finalized soon. Notably, NIMS has previously collaborated with IIT Hyderabad to launch an open-source dataset featuring digitized histopathological images, further underscoring its commitment to advancing pathology in India.
This integration of AI into diagnostics represents a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare delivery, potentially revolutionizing patient outcomes in the region.
