The Hyperfine Swoop® portable MRI system has been upgraded with AI-supported software, enhancing its capability for stroke visualization.

Recently, Lioness Medtech AB announced a significant software update for the Hyperfine Swoop® portable MR Imaging® system, introducing an advanced multi-directional diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) sequence. This new feature leverages a multi-directional image acquisition method akin to that used in high-field MRI, allowing for faster and clearer visualization of smaller strokes directly at the patient's bedside.

Since its initial prototype in 2016, the Hyperfine Swoop® has seen continuous improvements in image quality, thanks to the ongoing development of its Optive AI™ technology. This latest software iteration not only enhances diagnostic capabilities but also maintains compatibility with existing sequences, ensuring that current users can benefit from the advancements without needing new hardware.

The Swoop® system stands out for its energy efficiency, consuming approximately 97% less energy per scan compared to traditional high-field MRI systems. This makes it a more sustainable option, capable of operating from a standard wall outlet and eliminating the need for specialized cooling or extensive infrastructure. As Hyperfine continues to innovate, the Swoop® is poised to deliver even greater clinical utility and accessibility in imaging.
