Nebius, an AI cloud company, is set to invest £1.7 billion in the UK to enhance its AI infrastructure, aiming to construct three new facilities with a total capacity of 65 MW by 2027. This initiative aligns with the UK government's AI Opportunities Action Plan, which seeks to bolster the nation’s AI capabilities.

The new facilities will utilize NVIDIA technology, following the deployment of NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra infrastructure in November 2025. This expansion addresses the increasing demand for AI infrastructure from various sectors, including businesses, research institutions, and public services in the UK.

Kanishka Narayan, the UK's AI Minister, emphasized the government's commitment to fostering AI development by supporting the necessary infrastructure for businesses and researchers. Nebius's investment is expected to significantly enhance AI computing resources in the UK, thereby promoting widespread productivity gains across the economy.

As Nebius continues to enhance its AI cloud platform, the UK is emerging as a pivotal market for simultaneous AI development and adoption. With forecasts predicting a growth in the UK AI data center market to approximately $5.81 billion by 2026, the investment by Nebius is timely, reflecting the robust innovation ecosystem and public policy support in the region.
