MediElaj, a healthtech startup based in Gurugram, has secured approximately $100,000 in pre-seed funding, marking a significant step toward enhancing healthcare accessibility in India through AI-powered diagnostic kiosks.

The founders, Debjit Patra and Umesh Khatri, have also invested nearly $500,000 of their own funds to establish a robust technology framework for the company. MediElaj, founded in June 2023, aims to bridge the healthcare gap in underserved regions by integrating AI with smart diagnostics. Their kiosks are designed to provide preventive healthcare services, enabling residents in Tier II and Tier III cities, as well as rural areas, to access essential health screenings without the need to travel to urban hospitals.

This funding round coincides with a broader trend in India's startup ecosystem, where technology-driven solutions are increasingly being developed to tackle real-world healthcare challenges. The capital will be utilized for product development, kiosk prototyping, and enhancing AI infrastructure, positioning MediElaj for large-scale deployment across target markets.

MediElaj’s approach underscores the growing demand for accessible healthcare solutions in India, particularly in areas with limited medical infrastructure. As the company prepares for significant expansion, it aims to create a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem that combines intelligent diagnostics and digital accessibility, ultimately contributing to the evolution of preventive healthcare in the country.
