L7 Informatics has appointed Ray Veeraraghavan, Ph.D., as its new vice president of science and AI, aiming to enhance the use of its enterprise science platform in regulated research and manufacturing sectors.
Reporting directly to CEO Vasu Rangadass, Veeraraghavan will spearhead the company's scientific content strategy and facilitate the adoption of the L7|SYNAPSE AI platform among clients. His extensive experience includes over 24 years in artificial intelligence and machine learning within the life sciences, notably as the executive director of bioinformatics at Quest Diagnostics, where he led significant AI initiatives for a major molecular diagnostics business. He also played a key role in selecting the L7|ESP platform during his time there.
Veeraraghavan’s previous work includes developing an AI system for rapid whole-genome sequencing at the Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine, an achievement that garnered multiple accolades, including a Guinness World Record. In his new position, he will focus on creating standardized scientific content and workflows to aid regulated organizations in implementing agentic AI effectively.
Reflecting on his career, Veeraraghavan emphasized the necessity of integrating AI into operational workflows rather than using isolated models. He aims to help L7's clients realize the practical benefits of AI in their laboratories and manufacturing environments, thereby bridging the gap between innovative models and deployable workflows. This strategic appointment aligns with L7 Informatics' mission to unify data management and workflow processes in life sciences organizations.
