Recent discussions between Rwanda’s digital public services platform, Irembo, and the Gates Foundation highlighted the potential of AI and digital health in enhancing service delivery in Rwanda.
The meeting, which included key figures from Rwanda’s digital ecosystem such as the Ministry of ICT and Innovation and the Rwanda Information Society Authority, centered on expanding digital infrastructure and integrating artificial intelligence into public services. Irembo showcased its citizen-focused approach, emphasizing the use of technology and community insights to streamline interactions with government services.
During the visit, the delegation observed demonstrations of various digital service journeys, which underscored the importance of AI in improving public service efficiency. Discussions also delved into the development of Kinyarwanda large language models and the creation of personalized digital experiences for citizens, addressing the broader implications for digital health across Africa.
The collaboration between Irembo and the Gates Foundation is set to evolve, with a focus on enhancing AI capabilities and advancing digital health solutions, signaling a significant step towards a more connected and efficient public service framework in Rwanda.
