The partnership leverages Insilico's Pharma.AI platform, which integrates target identification, generative chemistry, and multi-parameter optimization. Since its inception in 2021, this platform has successfully generated 31 preclinical candidates, with 13 receiving IND approvals. Notably, one standout asset is ISM018_055, an AI-generated TNIK inhibitor currently in Phase II trials for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Bora Pharmaceuticals, a rapidly growing contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), will provide its extensive manufacturing and commercialization infrastructure. This collaboration is notable for its dual focus on drug discovery and operational efficiency, including enhancements to Bora's supply chain and workforce capabilities through AI integration.
This alliance marks Insilico's third significant partnership in recent months, following collaborations with Eli Lilly and Takeda. The Bora deal is distinctive as it not only emphasizes drug discovery but also aims to streamline the development and manufacturing processes, potentially capturing value further along the drug development timeline. As the companies work toward formal agreements, the projected collaboration value exceeds USD 2.5 billion, although specific financial terms remain undisclosed.
