4baseCare, a precision oncology startup backed by Infosys, has successfully raised INR 128 crore in Series B funding to enhance its global oncology platform, OncoTwin. This investment aims to expand its genomics laboratory network and improve access to precision oncology, particularly for underrepresented populations in various regions.

The funding round included a significant top-up of INR 38 crore led by growX Ventures and Infosys, with contributions from existing investors. This capital will enable 4baseCare to scale its AI-driven oncology platform, which utilizes a blend of genomic, pathology, radiology, and clinical data to create digital twins of cancer patients, thereby aiding oncologists in making informed treatment decisions.

Founded in 2019, 4baseCare not only focuses on developing cancer diagnostics but also emphasizes inclusivity in precision oncology, addressing disparities in genomic data and clinical trials that are predominantly centered in the US and Europe. The startup plans to broaden its laboratory operations, currently present in India, Dubai, Nepal, and the Philippines, to an additional 8–10 countries over the next year and a half.

This funding comes at a crucial time as 4baseCare aims to significantly increase its genomic testing capacity from 1,500 to between 8,000 and 10,000 tests per month. Additionally, the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Precision Oncology in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra underscores the startup's commitment to integrating advanced genomic cancer care into public health systems.
