IndiaAI and ICMR have formalized a partnership aimed at enhancing the responsible use of AI in healthcare through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This collaboration is set to integrate anonymized, ethics-compliant datasets and AI models developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) into the AIKosh platform. The goal is to leverage technological advancements alongside biomedical expertise to improve public health outcomes across India.
IndiaAI will contribute its computational resources and ecosystem-building initiatives, while ICMR will provide access to curated biomedical datasets through its Medical Information Data for AI Solutions (MIDAS) framework. This partnership aims to bridge a significant gap in advanced computing resources, offering ICMR access to high-performance GPU infrastructure, which will facilitate the development of complex AI models.
Moreover, the collaboration will focus on co-developing AI applications that align with India’s public health priorities, utilizing ICMR’s disease burden data and IndiaAI’s technology stack. This initiative not only aims to enhance local healthcare innovations but also strengthens global collaborations, as both organizations are recognized under the HealthAI Global Regulatory Network, promoting responsible governance of AI in healthcare.
This partnership signifies a crucial step toward building a robust AI ecosystem in healthcare, with the potential to accelerate advancements in disease prediction, diagnostics, and public health planning, ultimately improving health outcomes across the nation.
